Jörn Meyer

Illustrator

Hi and hello to all you creatures of the night!

My name is Jörn and I’m a recurring artist on the NoSleep illustration team. Since my first contact with the podcast actually happened through a microphone rather than a graphic tablet (I narrated some stories way back in season 2), I was beyond excited when David brought me on board with the art team.

As long as the sun’s blinding glare subdues my aberrant powers, I work as a web developer. But as soon as night’s soozing blanket falls over my hometown of Cologne, Germany, I lock myself in my cave and paint and draw until I fall asleep, stylus still in my hand.

Being able to draw was always a dream of mine, but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I was able to admit that my artistic inaptitude was a shortage of practice rather than a lack of talent, so I bit the bullet and dedicated countless hours in the evening and on weekends to painting pixels.

At the moment, my work centers most around the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror, as well as the intersections of those.

I’m always on the lookout for new projects or possibilities for commission work, while staying true to the labor of love that is NoSleep.

When I’m not drawing, I play pen-and-paper RPGs (mainly Pathfinder and Shadowrun at the moment, though I may or may not work on a system of my own…), love a strong, black coffee and ride my bicycle around town.

And, as long as David doesn’t tire of my ceaseless babblings on Twitter, I would be delighted to bring your demented visions of fiction to life with my illustrations for a long time to come!
